For encrypted foreign channels, a Sky Digibox is not suitable. Sky
Digiboxes can however be used to view free to air foreign channels since the
transmission of free to air digital channels is generally the same DVB (Digital
Video Broadcasting) format. To view encrypted channels on the UK Sky broadcast
system, a Sky Digibox type receiver must be used in conjunction with a Sky
subscription or free to view card. To view encrypted foreign channels, either a
receiver with the appropriate encryption system for the channel in question
must be used, or alternatively use a receiver that takes CAMs and obtain an
appropriate CAM for the encryption system required. Subscription and free to
view cards for foreign channels are available from the
appropriate broadcaster.
